7D Studios was founded by Cody Urban, Matt Waltz, and Susie Day in January 2003, with their first independent film, My Best Friend (c) 2004. The movie took a year to make using borrowed equipment and the help of the Desert Oasis Community Church in Lancaster, CA. With money raised 7D Studios was able to purchase their own professional equipment including lighting, sound, and a Canon XL-2.
From the start of 7D Studios, it was the goal of everyone involved to make movies that would be entertaining without being morally deficient. In 2005, we began working on another independent film entitled Forecast (c) 2006, an end-times thriller. Forecast was completed in 2006. 7D Studios has also branched out, not only producing independent films, but offering their services in taping weddings, music videos, as well as other forms of video projects.
Two of the founders, Matt and Cody graduated with BA's in Cinema and Television Arts from Cal State University, Northridge in 2008. From there, they've continued to work on film projects and various multimedia. Further feature film projects are still in the works.
Cody W Urban, while very active with 7D Studios, has branched into his writing career and has published his novel, "Nicholas: The Fantastic Origin of Santa Claus."
